Divide County Area Dollars for Scholars

Divide County Area Dollars for Scholars was founded in 1991 for the purpose of providing scholarships to graduates of Divide County High School in Crosby, North Dakota.  The first scholarships were awarded to four graduating high school seniors in May of 1992.

Population Served

Students at Divide County High School are residents of Divide County, North Dakota and its surrounding communities.  The organization serves families from Ambrose, Crosby, Columbus, Fortuna, Noonan, Westby, and Wildrose.

Fund Raising and Endowment Gifts

Divide County Area Dollars for Scholars has annual events to raise awareness and monies for the scholarships. These events include chapter sponsored spring and fall fundraising auctions and pie socials held during a home athletic events (volleyball, basketball, hockey).

Since the Divide County Area Dollars for Scholars chapter was formed in 1991, we have received a number of sizable gifts which were designated to be invested in our permanent endowment funds account, and only the income from these invested funds is used for scholarships each year.  In addition to these gifts, a number of memorial gifts, given in memory of a family member, friend, or member of the community have become a part of the endowment fund.

A gift of $10,000 establishes a named scholarship of $500 annually.  A $20,000 gift establishes a $1,000 scholarship.  These endowments can be funded over a number of years.  These memorials become a part of our permanent endowment account, thus leaving a lasting tribute.
